Chimgan Mountains, ten days in the saddle, about 6 hours/30km a day. Sleeping in a tent, cooking on a fire, swimming in the river.
Physical difficulty: 3 out of 5
Price category: Low cost
Accommodation: Tent
Day 1
Arrival and transfer by car to the southern tip of the Chimgan Mountains near the town of Parkent.
Day 2 to Day 11
Horseback riding, ten days in the saddle, about 5 to 6 hours of riding per day in all courses. The destination is high in the mountains near the northern tip of Chimgan National Park. There will not be much civilization along the way, only herders, small villages and beautiful mountain scenery. We take all our own equipment with us in horse saddle bags. Food and kitchen will be carried by a pack horse (and it is included). We cook local specialties on the fire and take care of the horses together. I would like all of us to help with the day to day running.
Day 12
End of the horse expedition at the clear blue Chorvoq dam. Return by car to Tashkent, sightseeing in Tashkent. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 13
Departure back home, or if you agree on your own follow-up program in the group, I will be happy to help you with everything.
We have the following horses available for the expedition. We choose our horses on the spot, however if you have a personal preference (gaited horse, big horse…) feel free to write in advance, we will be happy to arrange your horse to your preference 🙂
Kulrang – A very comfortable gaited horse, active horse for an active rider. This grey horse is smaller in body constitution, suitable for a lighter or medium person.
Gigant – Gigant is the largest of our horses, suitable also for a very tall or heavier rider. Gigant has a million dollar temperament and will never let you down. Because of his constitution, he is a dignified horse that doesn’t rush anywhere unnecessarily.
Raketa – White horse Rocket is a horse for lovers of fun, speed and adrenaline. We didn’t nickname him with this name for nothing. With a bit of practice, an experienced rider can hold him back even on the galloping meadow (can be seen in the video). You will be rewarded with a horse that will entertain you all day long with his tireless energy.
Qizilsochli – Sorrel is a medium-sized, very good horse that can be ridden without reins, suitable for people wanting to calmly enjoy nature views and photographers.
Afghon – This cross between an Akhalteke and a Karabair horse comes from Afghanistan, from where he was brought to Chimgan in an impoverished state and rescued. He is a rewarding horse with a powerful frame, suitable for heavier riders. Afghon is calm and obedient, grateful for any attention you give him.
Pank – “Punk” is a mountain horse, smaller in body constitution, suitable for a smaller active rider. He has very sure steps and is great on difficult terrain. Pank likes people and is a very sociable horse.
Qorachaqmoq – Black Lightning is a horse of massive conformation, he is well muscled and therefore one of the most beautiful horses in the herd. He has a lot of energy and is suitable for an advanced rider.
Sarigi – Yellow is a lively horse, suitable for an advanced rider. When ridden properly, he is a lovely horse who has lots of energy and you won’t be bored with him for a second. He knows how to lift his head above the reins or trot tirelessly. Because of his color, the light palomino, he is one of the most beautiful and photogenic horses in the herd.
Oqburun – Ok is a spirited little horse that has just the right amount of slow gallop and a nice comfortable trot. He is very well ridden and sometimes can be ridden without reins. He can yell on other horses.
Jorgoo – Jorge is, as his name suggests, the second gaited horse in the herd. He’s a young, exuberant horse that you’ll have a blast with. He’s such a young teenager, always wanting to run somewhere, meet someone or have a fight with someone. He’s always got energy to spare and you will end up loving his innocent children aura endlessly.
Qoratepadi – Tepik is a sensible horse who is reliable and calm in any situation. He has a sure step in the field and even the most difficult terrain leaves him icy calm. Tepik kicks (especially at feeding), so we prefer him to be groomed and fed exclusively by his owner.
Qizil – Kizik is a calm horse of fine constitution, suitable for lighter riders. He is accustomed to being in the mountains all day and is rideable without reins. He’s a laid-back horse.
🏇 So much for horse introductions and now let’s go on an expedition! 🏇
Send me your contact details and any additional questions – I’ll get back to you to arrange your participation in the expedition.
